| Used Check Report | In an environment using carbon checks and a slip printer, the checks are usually number coded sequentially. The slip printer can read the check number, and the system will keep a log of all numbers that have been used. This way a manager can look for a missing number in a sequence. |
| User ID | A number or name which is unique to a particular user of a computer or group of computers which share user information. The operating system uses the ID to represent the user in its data structures, e.g. the owner of a file or process, the person attempting to access a system resource etc. |
